Sean Murphy presented “Abraham Lincoln: The Man Beneath the Hat” to my 7th grade history students and it was a great experience on many levels.  Not only did Sean give a voice to Lincoln that my students could better relate to and understand, but he also presented information on the life of Lincoln that you don’t typically see in the history books.  My students loved hearing the stories about Lincoln’s family, were captivated by hearing the Gettysburg Address live, and continued to talk about what they learned for days and weeks after the presentation.  As an educator, this was such a wonderfully unique experience that brought a piece of history to life for my students.
